HISTORY

My Yoga practice found me in 2014 as a university public health student. I decided to test out the free gym yoga sessions. I was thrust into a world that seemed unusual and complex. Reflecting, I believe my personal practice didn't truly begin until a few more months passed when I was accidently treated to an intensive and impromptu workshop for myself and the two other students in attendance (the scheduled class happened to fall on the day before a holiday break).

Seven years passed of self practice before I decided join a Certified Yoga Training Program.

I started my RYT 200 for Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga in 2022 with Yoga Renew, a Yoga Alliance Certified Program.

In 2023, I began to work at Blue Moon Yoga as a form of karmic exchange laundering towels.

In the background, I was simultaneously establishing my Emblazoned Artistry and Yoga brand and I launched a version of my website a year later.

As of Summer of 2024, I have received my certificate for RYT 200 with Yoga Renew to teach Hatha and Vinyasa classes. During the time I was completing my first level of training, I was lucky to practice teaching over 50 yoga sessions. These varied from my place of employment, outdoors with the public and personally to friends.

Summer 2025, I am on track to complete my 500H YTT with Yoga Renew.

This is in stark contrast with my entanglement with art. Now, I can reflect and put words to my development/ growth as a generational artist. My grandmother was a fiber artist who taught my mother and I embroidery, braiding, weaving and sewing. My mother became her own beautiful painter, excelling in the discipline of single stroke oil painting. I benefited from both of their various specialties and expanded into more into complex disciplines.

I was heavily pressured to continue with higher education in academia, with absolutely no regrets, because I was able to balance my intense studies with exploring  new modalities of art in tandem with public health and philosophy education. While attending UCM, my favorite customized craft I sold were hand painted glass ornaments. Second to the glass was the popularity that caused me to create close to a hundred  clay baby bobcat ornaments for University keepsakes. This sponsored the purchasing of various community supplies I began curating since 2015 to the present day.

The art form that easily follows me around in nature is watercolor. It allows for tight specific layering to create an image while also having the flexibility for loose abstract art. It is the skill I continue to branch out to new populations to teach, from elementary school students, campers, college students and cooperate adults. Everyone befits from the low risk high reward medium that I can tailor to the emotional needs of the learners.

Stained Glass could be considered a generational skill too as I learned outside of my family from a community elder. I continue to improve and explore more modalities of crafts, arts and trade skills; I will continue to share as I have learned from others.
